Ten einde sy inkomste aan te vul hou hy ook 'n gastehuis aan waar hy volle losies aan skeepspassasiers bied.Vestig c. 1812 te Stellenbosch, nadat hy bankrot verklaar was en begin hier as chirurg praktiseer, maar word opgeroep om die Stellenboschse Kommando na die oosgrens te vergesel. Terwyl hy te Swellendam sy pligte nagekom het, word hy aangese om na Stellenbosch terug te keer en sy praktyk te hervat en op 8.5.1812 vestig hy weer in Stellenbosch s.v. Johann Georg Endres en Josephine Marie Weedenbusch. Sterf te Stellenbosch 27.11.1821 (52.3.24). Geen huweliksregistrasie van Endres is opgespoor nie: die vier seuns wie se name in Personalia o f the Germans at the Cape p. 89 voorkom, is die seuns van Jeremias Auret en Christina Hendrina Russouw. Die moeder van Endres se kinders was Maria Isabella DE VOS d.v. Wouter de Vos en Anna Elizabeth Steyn.
