I have limited info on my side but the photo I posted on Facebook was sent to me by my late father's cousin (Anna Hanekom (nee van Dyk), her father was Johannes. I didn't know my grandmother had so many siblings. When I was young, I visited Slagboom farm in Ceres so tried to find out who was who. This is what I have found in my van Dyk family tree: 1. Anna Christina Francina (7/4/05 '96 22/4/90 Parow, CapeTown) Married (3/7/34 Ceres) Gideon Johannes Jacobus Smit (5/8/05 Hopefield, Eastern Cape - 4/8/76 Newlands, CT) My grandfather was the Director of Education in R.S.A. I have traced our Smit genealogy to Stamvader Jan Smit 1650. Children: a. Johan Gideon (31/12/37 South Africa '96 30/9/93 CT) Married Anna Muller Children: Sophia, Deon and Johan b. Gideon Johannes (27/5/43 Port Elizabeth, EC '96 14/12/08 CT) Married Jennifer Lesley Pearce Children: Renee (me) and Philip 2. Johannes (30/10/12) Daughter: Anna (14/5/53) married Jannie Hanekom (they sold Slagboom farm to her brother-in-law and now live at Rozendalfontein farm, Ceres) Children: Jannie, Madelaine and Van Dyk 3. Lourens (27/4/14 - 27/4/97) Married Adriana Maria (Janie?) de Kock (1914 '96 2004) Children: a. Albertus Petrus (20/4/48 who I visited at Slagboom farm, Ceres and now lives in Aghulus, married Johanna. Children: Corlize and Lourens) b. Maria Susanna (2/2/50) c. Jacobus de Kock (21/5/51) d. Lourens (15/6/57 - 85) I don't have anymore info than that yet but I see Slagboom has an interesting van Dyk history. I hope to visit again sometime.
