Hierdie webwerf is in 2017 opgerig met die doel om 'n gesaghebbende naslaanwerk te wees met betrekking tot die stambome van die Suid-Afrikaanse Van Dyk-families. Oorspronklik is die 1975-Geslagsregister gebruik, en later aangevul met bronne soos die Suid-Afrikaanse Geslagsregisters en Suid-Afrikaanse Familieregisters.

Die doel is om, sover moontlik, alle feite te ondersteun m.b.v. primêre bronne (byvoorbeeld dooprekords of sterfkennisse).
